I am a wife and mama to two little miracles from Morgantown, West Virginia. I've had a passion for photography my entire life, but when I had my daughter three years ago, I felt a deep urge to capture her every move. Her tiny baby feet and hands were changing every day, and I wanted a way that I could hold on to those memories forever. Photography is a gift that I provide my family with. I want my children to have authentic documentation of their childhood. I, wholeheartedly, believe that photography is an heirloom. I am living my dream by getting to know other families and telling their story through a series of photographs. I love to learn about, and document, what you love about your family. Babies change fast. The beautiful chaos of life is something you'll want to remember the rest of your life. Helping other families provide an heirloom for their children is my life's mission.

I am living my dream by getting to know other families and telling their story through a series of photographs. I love to learn about, and document, what you love about your family. Babies change fast. The beautiful chaos of life  is something you’ll want to remember the rest of your life. "Be teachable. You're not always right." As a Chr "Be teachable. You're not always right."

As a Christian woman who's carried two of my own children AND been on birth control for the past 16 years I feel like it's time for me to share my story for the women who are both upset and pleased with the Roe vs Wade decision.

I've never had a strong opinion when it came to things that didn't necessarily phase me. My people pleasing, anxiety ridden nature has led me to be the type of person who is open to all opinions and decisions. I don't voice mine loudly because I love and respect people from all beliefs. And I never want to upset anyone.

However, when I was 18 I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on birth control. For 10 years I was told that I would, most likely, not be able to have children of my own. "I believe in God. I believe that we're all here for a greater purpose and the biggest one is loving our neighbors. I don't believe in the church or religion that old white men have built. I don't believe it is our job to tell anyone how they should or shouldn't live their lives. I haven't been to church in a long time because I'm still trying to find something that aligns with my values and the stories of Jesus that I learned growing up that somehow a little white girl took much differently than the majority of the religious population. Your story isn't mine and mine isn't yours. I will never understand what you had to go through. I think you're amazing for having control over your own life. Honestly, it's exactly what I did. I didn't become pregnant naturally. I went to the doctor and was put on synthetic hormones safely so that my body could carry two children. I couldn't imagine a religious person making that illegal for me since it wasn't 'what God wanted.' I wouldn't have the life that I have without medical intervention and neither would you"

I've had many open conversations with women who are both for and against abortion. I listen to and respect all of their decisions, but isn't it just that? Their decision.
Did you know I have a guide for photographers to Did you know

I have a guide for photographers to plan, shoot, and deliver their own Year In the Life sessions?! The best part is an open chat on here with other members where you can ask questions and share things you've learned along the way. You can purchase the guide by visiting the link on my profile and clicking "learn." Once you purchase, feel free to email with any questions and I will add you to our group!
I used to feel nervous telling people that I quit I used to feel nervous telling people that I quit my teaching job and started running my business full time. And even more nervous to tell them that I'm a photographer. People don't take things like that too seriously. "Oh...that's all you do?"

Now, I don't have any nervous feelings about it. I shoot about 250 documentary sessions a year and get to do things like hang out at the pool with my clients. Any time I tell people what I do, I say it with pride, and they're always so intrigued. I am feeding and clothing my family and I love my job and the life I've made for myself. Never feel nervous about building a life you love.
