Pittsburgh Storytelling Session

I was invited to the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden today to be with a family and tell their story. My heart lies in capturing the in-between moments; the ones that show the true nature of a subject. Every now and then, images from a session will take my breath away. These images do that for me. They are real. Some of them are funny. Some of them are sweet. Some will, hopefully, take your breath away too.

Before each session, I like to get to know my clients on a personal level. I knew this session would be with three young boys, so I wanted to know more about them; their likes and dislikes, features mom just loves, and what about this stage of life is worth remembering.

So, without further ado…

meet Paxson:

Paxton is 5. He is intense. He feels things really, really big.

This is Sawyer:

Sawyer is 3. He is very physical. I call him ‘cannonball’ because he just throws his body around. He’s got some pretty sweet ninja moves.

And baby Wyatt:

Wyatt is 1. He is the sweet baby.

He makes this great, cheesy smile face that I just love.

They are rough and tumble, crazy boys. They are basically barefoot six months out of the year. A family maxim of ours is ‘the dirtier you are, the more fun you’re having.’

Shirtless…that’s how I’ll remember them in the summer…barefoot and shirtless.
